Joanna. You bring the all important school-kids view to the table here. Your comment took me back to when we relied on the local radio station to list the school names - in alphabetical order - that would deliver us from our oppressors (read:gym teachers) for the day. I guess not much has changed. The difference for me between now and then is approximately 200 schools, plus the fact WJR was not reading the BUSINESSES that would be closed list freeing me from my oppressor. (That list has yet to be developed.)
More importantly, thanks for commenting on my blog! I hope you keep tabs on my sporadic postings and share a quick snippet of your insight.

Hi Kathy. You're probably right with the legal reason angle. Although I think it would be great to work in radio, reading the school closing list would drive me over the edge.

Brilliant and hilarious. I'm sure there's some ridiculous legal reason why they need to read the ones that are closed, because you know the news stations would much rather spend that time filled with ads.

Hi Kathy,
I like the lower center of gravity theory. Even though he has his own "mii" set up for his height and weight, he really has to shift his whole body different directions, it's hilarious to watch. He got to level 5 today. He also did the run where you pace yourself behind your 'guide' until you reach the finish line. He gets up on his tip toes and runs really fast - blowing past his guide. The game makes him wait until his guide catches up. My wife was in stitches. Personally, I think he is just a show off.

"It ain't easy" is right! I only sank one ball out of maybe a half dozen. It's really hard! I bet it's easier for a 3 foot person. Center of gravity is lower? Well, that's my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it. Enjoy!!!

Hi Kathy and Happy New Year! I'm really digging the Wii thing. Good to know I have company now! The Wii Fit is awesome. I am already feeling the affects. Yoga will be a stretch for me - (Ha! no pun intended), but I'm geared up to give it a go and what better time to start my Wii Calendar than January 1st!

Geakz, glad you found one. I had the exact same luck. A friend told me to try a little place called Game Crazy. Off the beaten path kind of place. Made a call, said they had one and to get my butt down there. They were only going to hold it for one hour for me. As for the hubs and me, we're very awesome at Wii Tennis, and I've just started exploring Wii Fit. I have a lot of work to do to reach my goal, but it's a load of fun and the best gift we got for ourselves this year.

Hey Jaffer! Long time. Yes, it looks like it will be a long winter so we needed something to keep us occupied - since we don't have cable T.V. OR DSL - we decided to treat ourselves to a Wii. Also have the Wii Fit - which is a whole different bag of challenges!

Greetings Jaffer. And just what was the percentage of times that this mistake would happen? You've detailed the scenario that could ultimately lead to a mistake and I had a similar vision in my head; grab this thing, grab that thing, etc. What was your companies policy on taking care of the customer at that time?
Lately I feel like my odds of winning the Lottery are better than getting an online order correct. I know mistakes happen, and I'm not looking to lower my cross hairs on the person who mismatched my items, but I do know that there is a lot of competition for my money on the Internet. When an economy is in dire straights, and there are myriad others selling the same thing, you'd think they'd pay more attention to a simple detail. It's called 'double checking the order'. But then again, that's just me. Thanks for your comment!

It may be funny, looking at the pictures but let me tell you I used to work once upon a time assembling Canon and Xerox image servers.

Power cords and their converters were stored in different bins. An order called for them by a 9 digit bar code - distinct for both the cord and the adapter.
I'd just had to walk to the bin and blindly pick out the cord by just re-checking the bar code and do the same for the converter, and if they both "PASSED" under the scanner, they were packed and sent to shipping.

Did I check the the holes and the plugs ? Nope ! I just did my job exactly as said by the Manufacturing Process Instruction posted on the company's intranet !

I can't tell you how many times I misread the 9 digit bar code and packed Australian Power cords bound for the UK or German power cords bound for the USA - or more ridiculously, French cords to Italy and vice versa.

And I was never once blamed !

I own a red 1GB Sansa myself, and its only downfall is its owner - because I have a Mac! It's not really designed to work seamlessly with Macs, but I make it work, and I default it to far more than I ever do my Shuffle. I love, love, LOVE the radio function - I can plug in some external speakers and listen to NPR while I'm putzing about the house. That was critical when I first moved into my new apartment and had no TV and no stereo! I've got lotsa love for it, I just wish my Mac felt the same :)
